Lyric Royce, Franchisee of ((Bounce)) Stevenage East tells Love Stevenage her story and inspiration of bringing this fun way to exercise to Stevenage.

Eight years ago, I stumbled upon something that would change my fitness journey forever. It all started when my mum dragged me along to my first ((BOUNCE)) class. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the moment the music started and I started bouncing on the mini trampoline, I was hooked.

Being a trained dancer, I immediately fell in love with the fun, choreographed style of the class. It felt like I was dancing, but with the added benefit of a great workout. The supportive environment and friendly instructors made me feel at ease from the start. Little did I know that this class would become my addiction!

Fast forward six years, and I found myself not only attending classes but teaching them too. I had built relationships with the attendees, supporting them on their fitness journeys, and getting to know them personally. When the opportunity arose to take over the ((BOUNCE)) Stevenage East franchise, I couldn’t resist.

My aim was simple: to share the joy of ((BOUNCE)) with as many people as possible. ((BOUNCE)) isn’t just about exercise; it’s about having fun, feeling energized, and achieving your fitness goals in a supportive community.

This way of exercising has been more than just a workout for me; it’s taken my fitness journey to the next level. After graduating from dance college, I struggled to stay motivated and keep to a good routine. But ((BOUNCE)) changed that.

The classes make fitness fun and easy to stick to. They’re not only low-impact but also incredibly effective. I suffered from a back injury, and I was apprehensive about exercising. But ((BOUNCE))’s rebounding, resistance-based workout was ideal for me. The trampoline absorbs 87% of the shock, making it gentle on the joints.

Our cardio classes, ((BOUNCE)) & BEATS, are fantastic for burning calories fast. We aim to burn around 700 calories per session, and the endorphins are flowing by the end of it. The toning sections of our classes have helped me improve my core strength massively and tone up my body more than I could have hoped for.

((BOUNCE)) also introduced me to strength-based classes using weights, like our BARBELLS class. I never thought I would enjoy it, but I’ve seen massive changes to my body since starting. The use of light weights and high reps have increased my strength, muscle mass, and endurance so much.

But it’s not just about the physical benefits. My favourite part about our group is the social side. We form friendships, have a catch-up every week, and of course, share a good old giggle. Everyone encourages and motivates each other, making every class enjoyable and rewarding.

As for ((BOUNCE)) Stevenage East, the journey doesn’t stop here. My aim is to spread the word about what we do and get as many people on the ((B)) bandwagon as possible. Our classes can be adapted for all abilities, with easier alternatives given throughout, making them suitable for mums, those recovering from injury, and hardcore fitness lovers alike.

Whether you’re looking to burn calories, tone up, or simply have fun while exercising, ((BOUNCE)) has something for everyone. So why not join us and bounce your way to a healthier, happier you?

We are based in Hall 2 at Great Ashby Community Centre, Stevenage and offer 3 classes per week, BOOK HERE
