Stevenage Striders Weekly Results & News – 19th August 2024

Stevenage Striders Parkrun (1)

This week, 59 Striders took part in parkruns across 15 distinct locations. There were notable accomplishments to celebrate, such as personal bests and first-place category finishes. Neil Walsh achieved his 50th parkrun milestone, and Helen Moye earned an impressive age grading score of 74.69%. Amazing!

While in Bulgaria, Lina Mi participated in the local equivalent of parkrun, known as 5KMRUN. Despite the very humid conditions in Plovdiv, she completed the course in 22:52, setting a new personal best and finishing as the first female. Outstanding performance!

On Sunday, two contingents of Striders took to Stevenage’s cycle paths for their long run, with several members gearing up for the unique marathon held once every decade by the Fairlands Valley Spartans. Both groups completed a loop of the upcoming marathon course, covering a distance of 21 kilometers.
