Great Yarmouth Road Runners, 5 mile series – Race 1

On Wednesday 16th April, as the sun was setting on the Norfolk Coast, Melissa Tanti took part in race 1 of the GYRR 5 mile series. This fast and flat, two lap course is incredibly popular with the locals and so Melissa couldn’t resist entering at the last minute, as she was in the area visiting family. “The interlocking medals are a brilliant idea, so I’m a little gutted I can’t make the next two, to complete the set”. Entering proved to be a good decision, as Melissa managed a PB time of 42:16.

Maidenhead Easter 10

It was a family affair this weekend, as three members of the Leigh family travelled down to take part in the 70th edition of the Maidenhead Easter 10. This 10 mile event is organised by Maidenhead AC and money raised went towards two chosen charities, TVAP and DASH. Chris Leigh (who ran for Bedford Harriers) ran a brilliant race crossing the line in 01:19:06. Sue Leigh ran with their daughter, Charlotte. This is the longest distance Charlotte has run since breaking her femur, and the duo ran a time of 02:02:32 – a ten minute PB for Charlotte.
