Hot weather, high energy, and hard-fought cricket across all sides. Stevenage CC came away with 3 wins out of 5 in a strong showing across the weekend.

Saturday 12 July – League Results

1st XI – Won by 12 runs vs St Margaretsbury 1st XI
Stevenage: 223/9 (50 overs)
St Margaretsbury: 211/9 (50 overs)

Batting Highlights

A vital 72-run stand between Singh and Tyler laid the foundation, with late-order runs helping us past 220.

Bowling Highlights

A disciplined team bowling effort saw wickets shared across the attack, with Chapman’s late burst helping secure the win.

2nd XI – Lost by 30 runs vs Northampton Exiles 1st XI
Northampton Exiles: 207 all out (45 overs)
Stevenage: 177 all out (47 overs)

A close contest with moments of promise, but we fell just short in the chase.

3rd XI – Won by 10 wickets vs Old Minchendenians 1st XI
Old Minchendenians: 184/6 (40 overs)
Stevenage: 186/0 (36 overs)

An exceptional chase led by our openers who saw it through unbeaten. A dominant all-round performance.

4th XI – Lost by 72 runs vs Broxbourne 3rd XI
Broxbourne: 213/9 (40 overs)
Stevenage: 141 all out (32.2 overs)

Despite good efforts, we couldn’t keep up with the required rate in a tough chase.

Sunday 13 July – Friendly XI Result

Won by 51 runs vs Watford Town CC
Stevenage: 212/8 (35 overs)
Watford Town: 161 all out (34 overs)

A strong showing in the friendly fixture, with a solid total followed by a composed bowling effort to close out the win.
