This week, the Oval Community Centre in Stevenage was filled with colour, culture, and devotion as the town’s Bengali community came together to celebrate Saraswati Puja, honouring the Hindu goddess of wisdom, knowledge, and learning.
Organised by UTSAB Stevenage Bengali Cultural Society, the event featured mesmerising performances by talented children and women, showcasing the richness of Bengali traditions through music and dance. Attendees also enjoyed delicious food and the warm hospitality that made the festival so special.
Among the distinguished guests who joined the celebrations were Mayor Jim Brown, Mayoress Penny Schenkel, Deputy Mayor Nazmin Chowdhury, and past Mayor Myla Arceno, along with respected community members Debu Bhowmick, Biswajit Majumder, and Ranjana Goon. Their presence highlighted the strong support for cultural diversity in Stevenage.
With a wonderful blend of spirituality, artistry, and togetherness, the event not only honoured Saraswati but also strengthened the bonds within the local community. Wishing all who celebrated a joyous and blessed Saraswati Puja!
