Next to cross the finish line was David Bowker. He competed in the men’s 65-plus category and completed his race in 48 minutes and 9 seconds. Bowker’s performance was marked by his steady pace and strong finish. He demonstrated that age is no barrier to achieving great things in sports.

Jim Brown, running in the men’s 70-plus category, also took home a gold medal. He finished his race in 53 minutes and 50 seconds. Brown’s journey to the gold was one of resilience and determination. He has been a dedicated member of the Fairlands Valley Spartans for many years, and this win added another accolade to his long list of achievements.

The weather on race day was nearly perfect. There were no hills to climb and no wind to battle. This made for ideal running conditions. Jim Brown captured the mood perfectly when he said, “No hills and no wind. What was there not to like?”
