SG1 Radio Collab Article

Stevenage is a town full of amazing people, awesome businesses, and cool events. But what if there was a way to connect all these things together, so everyone knew what was happening and how to get involved? That’s exactly what’s happening now that SG1 Radio and Love Stevenage have teamed up!

SG1 Radio, the town’s favorite local radio station, is known for playing great music and sharing important news with the community. Love Stevenage is a fantastic website that helps promote everything good about Stevenage, from businesses to events. By working together, they’re making Stevenage an even better place to live, work, and have fun!

The Birth of a Super Partnership

It all started when Colette Cooper, co-founder of Love Stevenage, had an idea. She noticed that while there were so many great things happening in Stevenage, people didn’t always know about them. That’s where SG1 Radio came in. The station already had a strong following of listeners, and it was the perfect platform to spread the word about what’s going on in the community.

“Love Stevenage was created to help everyone in Stevenage feel more connected,” Colette explained. “By teaming up with SG1 Radio, we can reach more people and showcase all the amazing things our town has to offer.”

Ray Medwynter, one of the key voices at SG1 Radio, was just as excited about the collaboration. “We’re always looking for ways to bring the community together,” he said. “Partnering with Love Stevenage means we can share even more positive stories, highlight local businesses, and make sure everyone knows about the great events happening around town.”

How the Collaboration Works

So, how exactly does this partnership work? It’s actually pretty simple—and super effective!

Love Stevenage already has a great website where people can find out about local businesses, upcoming events, and other community news. But not everyone checks websites regularly. That’s where SG1 Radio comes in.

With the partnership, Love Stevenage now shares its content on SG1 Radio. The radio station talks about local businesses, interviews community members, and announces events that are featured on the Love Stevenage website. This way, listeners can hear about all the exciting things happening in their town without having to go looking for the information themselves.

Matt Levy, Saturday Breakfast show presenter at SG1 Radio, shared his excitement about the new collaboration. “We’ve always believed in the power of community radio. By working with Love Stevenage, we’re not just playing music or talking about the news—we’re helping to build a stronger, more connected community.”

Why This Matters for Stevenage

Stevenage is a town that’s growing fast, with new people moving in and businesses popping up all the time. But with so much happening, it can be easy for people to feel a little lost or disconnected. That’s where this partnership comes in.

By combining the reach of SG1 Radio with the detailed information on the Love Stevenage website, more people can find out about what’s happening in their town. Whether it’s a new café opening up, a charity event that needs volunteers, or a school fair looking for attendees, the partnership makes sure the word gets out.

“This is about more than just sharing information,” Colette said. “It’s about building a sense of pride and belonging in our town. When people know what’s happening and feel involved, they’re more likely to support local businesses, attend events, and be part of the community.”

The Future Looks Bright

This partnership is still in its early days, but everyone involved is excited about where it’s headed. There are already plans to do even more together, like creating special shows on SG1 Radio that focus entirely on local businesses or organising community events that are promoted through both platforms.

Ray Medwynter summed it up perfectly: “We’ve only just begun to explore what we can achieve by working together. The potential is huge, and we’re looking forward to seeing just how much we can accomplish for the people of Stevenage.”

And Matt Levy agrees. “The best part is, we’re just getting started. There’s so much more we can do to make Stevenage a place where everyone feels connected and informed. This partnership is going to make a real difference.”

How You Can Get Involved

The best part about this collaboration is that it’s all about the community—and that includes you! There are plenty of ways you can get involved and make the most of what SG1 Radio and Love Stevenage have to offer.

First, be sure to tune in to SG1 Radio. Not only will you get to listen to great music, but you’ll also hear all the latest news about what’s happening in your town.

Second, visit the Love Stevenage website. It’s packed with information about local businesses, events, and more. You might even discover something new and exciting happening right in your neighborhood!

Finally, if you have a business or know of an event that deserves some attention, don’t hesitate to reach out to Love Stevenage or SG1 Radio. They’re always looking for new stories to share, and they’d love to hear from you.

Tune in next Saturday 14th September on Matt and RAy’s Breakfast show to hear Colette talk with the guys about how this collaboration is being brought to life!
