Hello, I’m Hannah Ainsworth, and I’m here to tell you about my colourful journey into the world of face and body painting. This story starts 13 years ago at my son’s infant school summer fair. Imagine this: the face painter cancelled last minute. As a member of the PTA, I thought, “I can give this a go!” Armed with a basic Snazaroo kit and a book of designs, I painted faces all day. I had the best time ever, and I haven’t stopped since!
Finding My Passion
That day sparked a passion in me. Face painting allows me to be creative and to bring joy to others. Over the years, I’ve perfected my skills, and it’s now my full-time job. It’s fantastic to earn a living doing what I love. I’ve also expanded my offerings to include henna and festival glitter, providing a variety of fun options for all kinds of events.
Teaming Up with Mum
My mum, Jane, is an integral part of my business. She’s a brilliant glitter tattoo artist. Together, we make a dynamic duo, especially at big community centre parties and events. Having her by my side has been wonderful, both personally and professionally. We enjoy making people smile and adding a bit of sparkle to their day.
Award-Winning Artistry
In 2023, my hard work paid off in a big way. I won the FACE International Face Painting Association Face Painter of the Year Award and took first place in their Annual Showcase Competition. These accolades are a testament to the dedication and passion I bring to my work. They also highlight the high-quality service I provide to my clients in Stevenage and beyond.
Local Community Events
I love being part of the Stevenage community. I regularly paint at local events, bringing smiles and colour wherever I go. This summer, you can find me at the Oval Community Centre Summer Fair on 6th July 2024 from 10am to 2pm. It’s always a fun event, full of laughter and joy. Later in the month, I’ll be at the Barrio Festival in Stevenage Town Centre on 27th July 2024 from 10am to 5pm. These events are fantastic opportunities to see my work up close and maybe even get your face painted!
Westgate Shopping Centre
During school holidays, I often set up at Westgate Shopping Centre. It’s a great spot to meet families and offer a bit of fun during their shopping trips. Check out their social media for the dates I’ll be there. It’s always a joy to see the children’s faces light up when they see their favourite characters or designs come to life on their faces..
