Stevenage Striders Weekly Results & News 15th July 2024

Neil & Chris at Suacony 10km

Last Tuesday saw several Stevenage Striders showing off their diamonds on the start line of the final MWL race of 2024! This is known as the MOB match which is a non scoring event with clubs from all 3 divisions taking to the start line. It can be confirmed that the Mob match was a fantastic event! The scenic and challenging run around Welwyn Garden City, followed by well-deserved finger snacks and award presentations was enjoyed by all. After the presentations many stayed on to enjoy the Euros semi final football together.

It sounds like it was an exciting weekend for everyone involved! Neil McKinnon and Chris Rowlands both achieved personal bests in the Saucony 10k in London, with Chris finishing in 43:48 and Neil in 52:46. 

Meanwhile, Teresa Sutherill, Helen Moye, and Peter Moye tackled the challenging Dunstable Downs trail half marathon. Peter finished in 1:47:32, securing 5th place overall. Helen completed the race in 2:19:33, placing 14th among women and 4th in her age group. Teresa finished in 2:51:41. The course was described as brutally tough but stunningly beautiful. Great achievements all around!
