The weekend kicked off with 23 runners taking part in ParkRun at seven different locations. Our club Chair, Phil Gover ran Speyer Leinpfad in Germany and praised it for it friendly atmosphere and welcoming founder. Ashley Bates celebrated a milestone with his 100th ParkRun and ran with friends and family at Maldon Prom (pictured in the yellow vest on the right).

GP Bedford Autodrone

This brand new track was designed from scratch by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer and the course is made up of a 5km lap inside the Bedford Autodrone. Ashton Marshall took full advantage of this fast and flat course and earned himself a personal best 10km time of 45min and 23 secs. It was a big weekend for Ashley Bates, who, after his celebratory ParkRun on Saturday, then ran a marathon in Bedford on Sunday 4th Aug. Ashley completed the 8 lap course in 5hrs, 3mins, 38secs.
