When Welwyn Wheelers cycling coach Richard Maynard set a challenge for Stevenage personal trainer Andy Prior to complete the Source to Sea Rhine adventure, neither could have imagined that, a year later, they would have achieved it in spectacular fashion.
Starting on 29th May at the Oberalp Pass in Switzerland, Andy and Richard cycled more than 1,400km along the River Rhine, all the way to its mouth in Rotterdam. Their epic journey took them through six countries—Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, Germany, and the Netherlands—and even included nine ferry crossings.
Throughout the adventure, the pair shared daily updates on their progress via Facebook, raising awareness and vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Their dedication and determination have not gone unnoticed, with generous donations and messages of support flooding in from across the community.
