If you’re into running in Stevenage, you might know Sarah and Steve from ASK Physio. They’re the go-to experts when it comes to physiotherapy in Stevenage, especially if you’ve had any injuries or aches while training. Both Sarah and Steve are passionate runners themselves, with several marathons and half-marathons under their belts, and this year, they’re all set to tackle the big one – the decennial Stevenage Marathon on 20th October!
But they’re not going alone! Their colleague, Charlie Humber, a specialist MSK physiotherapist, will also be running the half marathon. Interestingly, Charlie’s first-ever half marathon was actually a birthday gift from Sarah and Steve! It looks like their enthusiasm for running is contagious. Another member of the team, Nicki Combarro, who has conquered both the New York Marathon and the Barcelona Ironman, will be cheering them on from the sidelines this year.
ASK Physio is well-known for its expertise in treating running injuries. Five of their staff members have completed the highly respected Tom Goom course on running injuries. In fact, ASK Physio is even featured on Tom Goom’s website as a recommended clinic for runners. Their first-hand experience of running makes them uniquely skilled at treating running-related issues.
We asked Sarah how she and Steve manage to train while running a busy business in Stevenage. She shared, “Running a small business is time-consuming, but we try to take Fridays off. That’s when we fit in our long runs, so we can enjoy the weekend. Our other runs are during the week with our local running club, the Stevenage Striders.”
As they look ahead to the marathon, Sarah and Steve are excited for the support of the local community. “We’re hoping for lots of cheers along the cycle paths, especially around Martins Way at miles 13 and 25. It’ll make a big difference!”
So, if you’re free on the 20th October, be sure to get out and cheer them on!
