Aqua Parc Stevenage

The Excitement Builds

As summer approaches, Stevenage is buzzing with anticipation for the arrival of Aqua Parcs. This new water attraction promises to bring fun and adventure to the heart of our community. Located at Fairlands Valley Park, Aqua Parcs is set to open its doors in July, just in time for the school holidays.

Their Story

Aqua Parcs is the brainchild of Kieron and his business partner Joe. Joe is a keen wakeboarder who has travelled all over the country, visiting different water sports facilities. Joe recalls, “The more places I went to, the more we saw these aqua parks popping up. We started talking to the owners to find out what they were all about.” Kieron’s first experience at an aqua park was memorable. “It was cold and not for me,” he says, “but it was November, and the session was great and went so quickly. It really changed my opinion on these parks.”

Originally from Kent, Kieron and Joe researched various lakes to find the perfect spot for their own park. They launched their first Aqua Parc on July 7th, 2018, and have never looked back since.

Why Stevenage?

Stevenage was the perfect choice for their next venture. “It’s an oasis in the centre of Stevenage,” Kieron explains. The location at Fairlands Valley Park offers beautiful surroundings and ample space for their ambitious plans. The council has been incredibly supportive and welcoming, recognising the positive impact Aqua Parcs will have on the community.

A Community Hub

Kieron and Joe are aware that Aqua Parcs will attract visitors from outside the area, so it’s important for them to integrate well with the local community. They’ve been engaging with residents and local businesses to ensure a warm welcome. “We know we’re coming from out of the area, and it’s important that we engage with and form good relationships with the locals,” Kieron says. Stevenage Day was a particular highlight for them

The team is also committed to creating local jobs. Aqua Parcs will employ around 40 people, providing full training as lifeguards. This is particularly significant as the younger generation has been hit hardest by recent economic challenges. If you’re interested in working at Aqua Parcs, you can send your application to careers@aquaparcs.co.uk.

Concerns Around Water Quality

Some concerns have been raised about water quality, but Keiron assures everyone that strict measures are in place to ensure safety. “Every month the water quality is tested and we have a duty of care to all of our guests to ensure the water is safe to use. Safety of our team and guests will always be our top priority so if the water quality was ever deemed unsafe we would not allow any staff or guests to enter the water” he says. The team is committed to making sure the water is clean and safe for all visitors.

Safety First

Safety is a top priority at Aqua Parcs. Kieron and his team have gone to great lengths to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the attractions safely and explains. “Our staff are fully trained in water safety and first aid.”

Visitors will be required to wear buoyancy aids and wetsuits, which are provided at no extra cost. There will also be lifeguards on duty at all times, keeping a watchful eye on everyone enjoying the water. With these measures in place, families can have peace of mind while they splash and play.

Seasonal Fun

Aqua Parcs’ peak season runs from May to the end of September, but Kieron and Joe are considering a longer season at Stevenage. The park will offer a range of activities to suit all ages and abilities. The inflatable obstacle course, paddle boats, and kayaks provide endless fun for everyone. Whether you’re testing your agility on the course or enjoying a leisurely paddle, there’s something for everyone.

Supporting Charities

Aqua Parcs is not just about fun; it’s also about giving back. Kieron and Joe are committed to supporting charities that resonate with them. They have previously worked with organisations like Mind and local hospices. “We like to find a charity that fits us the most and put our efforts into that,” Kieron says. They plan to continue this tradition in Stevenage, helping to raise awareness and funds for important causes.

Media Day

To kick off the grand opening, Aqua Parcs will be hosting a media day. This event will give journalists and influencers a first look at the park and its attractions. It’s a great opportunity for the community to get a sneak peek of what’s to come.

Get Involved

If you’re interested in visiting Aqua Parcs or getting involved in its activities, there are plenty of ways to do so. The park’s website offers detailed information on ticket prices, opening times, and special events. You can also follow Aqua Parcs on social media to stay updated on the latest news and promotions.

For local businesses, there are opportunities to partner with Aqua Parcs through sponsorships and collaborations. This can help increase visibility and show support for a local attraction that’s bringing positive change to the community.

So, mark your calendars for July and get ready to dive into the fun at Aqua Parcs. Whether you’re racing your friends on the obstacle course, paddling around the lake, or enjoying a family picnic, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Aqua Parcs isn’t just a new attraction—it’s a celebration of community, adventure, and the joy of being outdoors.

We’ll see you there!
