St Nicholas is a voluntary-aided one form entry primary and nursery school, with strong links to the parish church of St Andrew and St George’s within the Diocese of St Albans. The children attend the church regularly and the church team leads Collective Worship in school.
“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever” Psalm 52:8
As a Church of England school our Christian vision is an integral part of all that we do and we seek to live out our motto: ‘Learning, Loving, Living in God’s family’.
At St Nicholas we strive to unlock the hidden treasures within each child in a happy, safe and caring Christian environment. Our principal aim is to provide children with the best possible education, underpinned by Christian values. We recognise that each child is unique and therefore seek to provide for their individual academic, creative, emotional, social and spiritual needs. We understand the importance of working in partnership with parents and families and put each child’s needs at the centre of all we do.
The curriculum we provide is broad and stimulating, with many opportunities for first hand experiences and trips to engage all learners. We encourage our pupils to actively contribute to our school community by leading groups, taking on roles of responsibility, and caring for each other.
