The Shared Church of All Saints was officially opened on 21st September 1974. The first services had taken place on Sunday 7th July of that year.
The church was shared by between Anglicans, Methodists and Roman Catholics and formed an important part of the Oval Community Centre.
Each denomination held its own weekly services but from the outset there were regular oportunities for joint worship. The denominations also came together for mission fund raising and for social events.
In 2008 The Anglicans and Methodists agreed to work more closely with each other and now worship together as a single congregation.
Regretably, in 2013 the Roman Catholics had to cease their Masses at the church due largely to shortage of priests, both locally and nationally.
