Press Brake Operator

Location: Stevenage

We have an opportunity for an experienced Brake Press Operative, working within a small experience team. You must be able to understand engineering drawings, operate a Brake Press and being able to work on your own initiative.

Day to day duties include (but not limited to)

• Fabricating in a workshop environment including press brake, guillotine, and general engineering skills.
• Manufacture from detailed in house and customer drawings.
• Problem solve and work under pressure.
• Have a good work ethic and be able to flourish in a busy and varied workshop.
• Integrate and work with a small team.

As a successful Brake Press Operator, you will have the following:

• Ability to take on information and develop any new skills required.
• Minimum 2 years Brake Press experience
• Knowledge of different types of materials.
• Able to work well with team members and other departments.
• Welding (Tig) would be an advantage but not essential.
• Flexible approach to working.
• Work with various materials, generally Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
• An interest in the engineering and fabrication sectors.

The successful applicant will benefit from a comprehensive on site / hands on training

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM. Overtime available

This is a full-time position and the salary is £13.50 – £16.50 per hour, depending on experience.
